Technical (12)
Yes, but not in windy conditions.
The maximum platform height for outdoor use is 8m. It is strongly recommended to tie the tower to a rigid structure when the platform height is above 8m and/or if the wind is strong enough to move large branches on trees.
Please see page 4 of our Industrial Tower Instruction Manual for guidance on wind speed safety rules.
The Working at Height Regulations apply to all businesses, a tower certified to EN1004-1:2020 Class 3 Standard will satisfy the WAHR and HSE. Only our Loyal Industrial Towers and Trade King Towers have full certification.
At present, WAHR do not apply for private home/domestic use. So, the eDIY, MDIY and Super DIY towers do not need certification and are only suitable for private home/domestic use.
Detailed specifications can be found in the description on the tower product pages and on the technical diagram and component list, located just below the product title on the product pages entitled Click For Technical Diagram & Component List. These can also be found in the Need Help section.

This needs to be answered in reverse.
The Platform height is how far you are standing off the floor, that is, distance between the ground and the upper platform board.
The Tower height is the physical height of the tower itself, that is, distance between the ground and the top rail.
The working height is how high you can reach when you are standing on the platform. It is a common practice that working height is platform height plus 2 metres.
Please see Height Specification for a handy diagram below.

Scaffold Tower Height Limits
The max height of a scaffold tower depends on several factors:
- 🏠 Indoor vs outdoor use
- 🏗️ Whether the tower is freestanding or tied
- ✅ Compliance with BS EN 1004:2020
1. Freestanding Towers
Indoor Use:
- 📏 Maximum platform height (2024): 12 metres
- ⚖️ Must be stabilised with outriggers or a wide base.
Outdoor Use:
